History That's In the Making- McDoniel 2010

I am so proud of each and every one of you! I know you guys groan and moan when I say this, but I am going to say it anyway.... My little birdies are REALLY ready to spread their wings and fly! You are ready to leave your McDoniel nest and fly onto great and wonderful things.

As your math teacher last year, I couldn't resist:

If you spent...

One year with Mrs. Ranney:

We spent 180 days and 900 hours together!

Two years with Mrs. Ranney:

We spent 360 days and1800 hours together!

Three years with Mrs. Ranney:

We spent 540 days and 2,700 hours together!

I wonder how many minutes and seconds that is?

Historical Events at Mcdoniel:

•First 6 year class in dual language!

•First elementary school to compete in the Spanish language bowl!

(p.s. and really beat the tar out of the older kids!)

•First students in the school to participate in video conferencing with a class in Honduras and friends who taught us about Egyptian culture! (p.s. Made your principal’s dream come true!)

•Started the weekend food program to help students in our school not be hungry

•We were one of the last classes to visit with Jordan and John Fredericks...We were one of the first classes to visit with Jordan Junior and John Fredericks

•We sent our Flat Stanley’s all around the world and learned and communicated with people from over 20 different countries! We exchanged Flat Selves with students from around the United States who spent time with us in our homes!

•We did an entire play in Spanish!

•We were the FIRST elementary school invited to the Justo Llamas concert, and some of us went on stage!

•Most importantly, we taught the world that we CAN make a difference, even though we are just kids. We helped eradicate hunger and donated over $4,000 to HEIFER International

We (with the help of our wonderful parents) made and sold necklaces and bracelets, Egyptian bookmarks made with real papyrus, and dressed up like farm animals!

We ran Milers, and for each mile completed we received and donated $1 to HEIFER!

We had a real life llama visit our school and charged visitors to have their picture taken with an authentic animal from Peru!

Remember, Mrs. Ranney is just an e-mail away, and I want to hear all about your wonderful accomplishments and I am always here to support you.

Don't forget to give your family members a big hug for all of their support and love for you, you are so lucky to have such wonderful caretakers who support you and love you.

Give all your teachers a big hug for all their hard work and dedication to your education. They all love and care for you and wish you the best.

Give all the office staff, nurses, custodians, PTA moms and dads, and administrators big hugs for working behind the scenes to make your experience at McDoniel special and amazing.

Remember, you are all very special, wonderful, beautiful people and you are designed for a purpose and to make a difference in this world! You have made history at this school, and you will continue to make history in all that you do! Mrs. Ranney is so proud of you all, and misses you all terribly!!!!!
